Delete Your Account

1. Delete From the App (Fastest)

If you can sign in to Petia:

1. Open Petia and go to the Account tab.
2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
3. Type DELETE to confirm (ELIMINAR if the app is in Spanish).

Your account is deleted on our servers and you are signed out right away. Your photos are deleted as part of the same step. If any file remains, email hello@petia.app and we will delete it.

2. Request Deletion by Email

If you no longer have access to the app or your device, you can request deletion without reinstalling:

1. Email hello@petia.app from the email address linked to your Petia account.
2. Use the subject line "Delete my account".

We verify that the request comes from the account owner's address, confirm by reply, and complete the deletion within 30 days of verification.

3. Delete Some Data and Keep Your Account

You can delete part of your data without deleting your account.

In the app:
• A reminder: go to Care → Reminders and tap the trash icon on the reminder.
• A vet visit: go to Health → Vet Visits, open the visit and tap Delete. This removes the visit record; document photos attached to it stay saved until you delete your account or ask us by email to delete them.
• A pet and all its records: open the pet's profile and tap Delete pet. This option appears when you have more than one pet.

By email, for anything else, such as a photo, a health diary entry, a mood or weight log, a food scan or your chat history:
1. Email hello@petia.app from the email address linked to your Petia account.
2. Use the subject line "Delete some of my data" and tell us what to delete.

We confirm by reply and delete it within 30 days. Your account and the rest of your data stay as they are. The photos of a pet you deleted also stay saved until you delete your account or ask us by email to delete them.

4. What Gets Deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes the following, with the exceptions in section 5 (What We Keep):
• Your account profile (email, display name, preferences)
• All pet profiles
• Mood logs, weight history, vet visits, and reminders
• Health diary entries and medical records
• Uploaded photos (pet, food, health, and document images)
• Food scan results and AI chat history

Per our Privacy Policy, deletion is completed within 30 days. Backups holding deleted records are overwritten on a rolling basis and are not used to restore content.

5. What We Keep

We may retain limited records where required by law, such as billing receipts, and a non-reversible record used solely to prevent free-trial abuse. If you signed up with a friend's referral code, we keep your email in the referral record so the same email cannot be referred twice. These records hold no pet data and are not used to restore your account.

6. Subscriptions Are Managed by the Stores

Deleting your Petia account does not automatically cancel an active subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so please cancel first:

• iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → Petia
• Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Petia

Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge.
